The skies are the limit at the highly anticipated Girls in Aviation Gulf Coast 2024, an inspiring event designed to ignite the passions of young women interested in aviation and aerospace careers. This event, a dynamic collaboration between the Naval Aviation Museum Foundation and Women in Aviation International Gulf Coast, will take place on November 16, 2024, at the renowned National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, Florida.
What to Expect:
Prepare for a day filled with exploration and excitement as female role models from across the aviation industry come together to showcase the diverse opportunities within this field. Attendees will have the chance to meet and interact with accomplished women representing a wide array of aviation careers. These include professionals from air traffic control, piloting, aviation maintenance and manufacturing, as well as the United States Armed Forces. Information about local aviation education opportunities will also be available.
Guest Speaker:
We are thrilled to announce that Girls in Aviation Gulf Coast 2024 will feature Michele "MACE" Curran as our guest speaker. MACE is a Thunderbird Pilot, Combat Veteran, and Fighter Pilot turned Author and Speaker, This dynamic woman will share her extraordinary journey and offer valuable advice, inspiring the next generation of female aviators and aerospace professionals.
Girl Scout Badge Opportunity:
The Girl Scouts of Gateway Council will be offering Girl Scout attendees an opportunity to earn the Fling Flyer Badge during the event!
Interactive STEM Stations:
Engage with hands-on STEM activities designed to spark curiosity and creativity. The event will feature a variety of interactive stations, including:
- Lockwire Bracelets: Learn the engineering behind this essential aviation tool while creating your own unique bracelet.
- Straw Rockets and Airplane Launches: Experience the fundamentals of aerodynamics with fun, hands-on experiments.
